Beats and challenges: one beat, many voices

Beats from Stream-Q musicians with clear terms: what you can and cannot do. Listen, record your own take on a beat, and if the author starts a challenge, compete with other voices on the same beat. Browsing needs no account; to post a beat or take part, sign in.

"One beat, many voices" challenges

One beat, one week, many takes. Record yours and compare your voice with the others.

No open challenges right now.

How to read a beat's terms

The word "free" says nothing about whether you may earn from the track. So every beat has one of five terms:

  • Trial recording only

You may record a demo; releasing the track is not allowed

  • Free for personal use (non-commercial)

Free of charge, but no earning: you may not monetise the track

  • Free commercial licence (on the author's conditions)

Free and you may earn from it — but only within the author's conditions

  • Exclusive by agreement

Price and conditions are agreed with the author only

  • Joint release

The track is released together with the beat's author, shares are agreed in advance

Be the first: upload a beat, choose the terms and let people record on it.

Catalogue rules

  • Post only your own beats or ones you have the right to publish. Other people's beats, uncleared samples and leaked instrumentals are grounds for a report and removal.
  • A beat has one of five terms and they do not change after publishing. Do not promise "free" without saying more: personal use and a commercial licence are different things.
  • A participant's take is published immediately and is visible to everyone until the beat's author declines it or a moderator hides it. A take must contain only what you recorded yourself.
  • The site does not deliver files, take money or issue licences: you agree the terms and payment yourselves, preferably in writing. Do not send an advance to strangers.
  • Spam, scams, abuse and illegal content are banned. An author with two hidden beats cannot post new ones; the decision can be appealed via "Contact" in the footer.
  • A challenge is created by the beat's author and, until a moderator approves it, only the author can see it. One challenge per author at a time.
